Ramona's Shrug-Test Fitting for a 1 year old!!

Little Miss Ramona turned 1 this 4th of July! I thought she might need a cute little shrug to help her keep warm on some of the cooler Summer eve's, and soon-to-be autumn days. She was a little bit of a busy bee during the test fitting, but I knew I just had to document the moment! She was especially excited, not to mention mesmerized upon finding my 60+ nail polish collection...at least it held her attention long enough to snap a few shots, cause man, is that baby fast!!!

Yarn Bombing at the Utah Art's Festival, June 2011

Here are a few fun shots I was able to capture of the amazing Yarn Bombing that went on this year at the Utah Arts Festival! Enjoy the creativity!!
Yarn Bomb-omb!

It was an awesome sight to behold, I just wish I had been able to participate this year....but, I know, there's always next year!!
If only I had snagged pictures of the MiniCooper they bombed, too!!

Gotta love it,
Queen Mab

The Spring Eyelet Cardi for Babes

Here we have the lovely Paddington Bear modeling one of Queen Mab's latest projects: a comfy, cottony, and oh so cozy Springtime Cardigan with eyelet detail! He looks utterly stylish in this white, downy delight that is perfectly breathable for those late Spring/early Summer evenings or afternoons.
The sizing of this cardigan, for the average Baby, is roughly 9 mos - 12 mos for best fit, but could easily be worn a little earlier as well.

This sweater and many other knit delights can be found at Salt Lake City's own SL Citizen located most conveniently inside the Downtown Library, in Downtown SLC!
Come any time during regular business hours to check out my own, and several other local vendors that are doing their personal best to keep Utah stylish and in support of Local Artisans...cause deep down, we all want that ;)

Lots of love,
Queen Mab

So come on down to the library, grab a cup of coffee/what-have-you, check-out some amazing books, and please be sure to stop by this awesome new shop!! You may even see a few of my hand-knit items in store...but that's truly, just the beginning!! :)

The Sweet Honeycomb Sweater

Mr. Paddington Bear was a most generous model for my Sweet Honeycomb Sweater, sized for the average 1 year old. Since babies do have a tendency to get a little messy, I knit this honeycomb-cabled sweater with Vanna's Choice Yarn in Dusty Blue. It is completely washer-friendly, 100% Acrylic, and such a flattering color, I think!

The front panel is easily removed by unbuttoning either, or both sides of the cardigan's body...when the panel is taken off, the little sweater can be worn as a light, open front cardi, too.

I loved the outcome of this cabled design, mixed with a stockinette and simple seed stitch border!

What makes this little sweater one of my all-time favorites is definitely the way the back turned out...the honeycomb cables literally POP! out of the stockinette surroundings, giving you a slightly elevated, textured stitch that ties in with the front panel.

This was definitely a project that I adored working on! There are few things more fulfilling to me than finishing a piece that I have honest excitement about, and this was definitely one of them! ...and don't you think Paddington makes such a great little model??

...So much more to come, and happy knitting to all :)
